Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Agent Dock is built to keep your work on your Mac. This policy explains what the app and this website handle, where it goes, and the choices you have.

1. In short

  1. Agent Dock runs on your Mac. Your agents, conversations, code and files never leave it to reach us.
  2. You sign in with Apple or Google, so we know who uses Agent Dock: your name, email and when you last opened the app.
  3. The app sends usage events (like how often you answer a prompt, send a message or stop an agent), never what you or your agents write. You can turn this off. This website has no tracking and sets no cookies.
  4. What your agents send to their AI providers is between you and those providers.

2. Who we are

Agent Dock is made by the team behind it ("we", "us"). For anything about your privacy, message us on X (@hughjamess).

3. What the app reads on your Mac

  1. Your agents. To show your agents and their state, Agent Dock reads the session and conversation files that tools like Claude Code, Codex and Herdr keep on your Mac, and talks to those tools directly.
  2. What you send through it. Your replies, answers, commands and attachments are passed straight to the agent you send them to. Screenshots and files you attach are saved in Agent Dock's folder on your Mac (in Application Support) and deleted after a week.
  3. Permission prompts. So you can answer Claude Code's questions and permission prompts, Agent Dock adds a small hook to your Claude Code settings, keeping a backup of the file first. The prompts travel between Claude Code and Agent Dock on your Mac only. You can turn this off in Settings.
  4. Your settings. Preferences, such as which machines you've added, are stored on your Mac.
  5. The welcome tour's sky. To paint the tour's background for your time of day and weather, the app estimates a rough location from your Mac's time zone (it never asks for your location) and fetches the current weather for that area from Open-Meteo, once, when the tour opens. Open-Meteo receives that rough location and your IP address.
  6. None of this leaves your Mac to reach us.

4. Your account

  1. You sign in with Apple or Google. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, which stores your account for us.
  2. We keep your name and email (as Apple or Google share them; Apple lets you hide your email), which one you signed in with, the date you joined, when you last opened the app, and your app and macOS versions.
  3. We use this to know who uses Agent Dock, to contact you about important changes, and, if we add paid plans, to manage them. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.
  4. The app keeps your sign-in in your Mac's Keychain.

5. Usage events

  1. To learn which features matter and improve Agent Dock, the app sends usage events to PostHog (servers in the United States): for example: the app being opened and for how long, the welcome tour steps, messages sent and attachments added (counts only), prompts answered, agents opened, started or stopped, which built-in / command was used, settings switched on or off, replies that couldn't be delivered, and how many agents of each type (Claude, Codex…) are connected.
  2. Before you sign in, events carry a random ID for this install. Once you're signed in, they're linked to your account ID, so we can see how people use Agent Dock over time. Your name and email are never sent to PostHog. Events also include your app and macOS versions.
  3. They never include your prompts, replies, code, file or project names, or anything from a conversation.
  4. Turn them off any time in Settings → About → Share usage.

6. Other machines you connect

If you add another Mac or server, Agent Dock connects to it directly over SSH, using the access you set up, to show the agents running there. That connection goes from your Mac to your machine; it doesn't pass through us.

7. Your agents and AI providers

Your agents (such as Claude Code, Codex or Gemini) send your prompts and code to their AI providers under those providers' own terms and privacy policies. Agent Dock doesn't change what they send, and doesn't receive a copy.

8. This website

  1. This site has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and sets no cookies.
  2. To paint the sky for your time of day and weather, it estimates a rough location from your browser's time zone (it never asks for your location) and fetches the current weather for that area from Open-Meteo. Open-Meteo receives that rough location and your IP address.
  3. The fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
  4. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and reliability.

9. If you message us

If you message us on X, we use your message only to reply and to help you. Messages are held by X under X's Privacy Policy.

10. How long things are kept

  1. Attachments you add in Agent Dock are deleted from your Mac after a week. Everything else Agent Dock stores stays on your Mac until you remove the app.
  2. Your agents' own history is kept by those tools, not by Agent Dock.
  3. Your account is kept until you ask us to delete it. Usage events are kept for up to two years.

11. Your choices and rights

  1. You can turn off permission answering or usage events, sign out, remove machines you've added, or quit and delete Agent Dock at any time.
  2. Depending on where you live (including the UK and EU), you have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of personal data we hold about you. We hold only your account details and usage events. To get a copy or have your account deleted, just ask: message us on X. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK, that's the ICO.

12. Security

Because Agent Dock keeps your data on your Mac, its security depends largely on your Mac's. Connections to your other machines use SSH. If we ever learn of a security issue that affects you, we'll tell you.

13. Children

Agent Dock is a tool for developers and isn't directed at children under 16.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how Agent Dock handles data, for example by adding accounts or crash reporting, we'll update this policy, change the date at the top and say so before the change takes effect.
